UPDATES IN RED
Not a lot to write home about. A typical rainy afternoon in England. Southampton v Watford could see about an inch of rain but shouldn’t really change the outcome. Mild temps throughout.
First things first, I think DK is starting to figure out that these tiers were pretty easy. It could be that we have a better slate of games. HOWEVER, these are a little tougher. That is exactly why you come to this blog. Let’s make some cash.
Cream of the crop here. 4 of the 5 on the road. Lexi is at home but just played 2 games for Chile. Kane is a notoriously slow starter. Rom is on fire. Hazard is fresh but maybe not game fit. Let’s rank em…
UPDATE: NO ALEXI IN XI. NO HAZARD!! ALL IN ON LUKAKU?? ERIKSEN/KANE MOVE UP.
Tier 1 : Lukaku,
Sanchez, Hazard, Eriksen, Kane
More quality here. Do you chase goals for the big payoff or guaranteed points? Can Pogba and Miki keep it rolling at Stoke? Hard to say. This could be more of a 4-3-3 look for United with Mata exiting and Miki heading back out the right. He’s impacts the game less from the wing so Pogba’s value increases. Morata looked good for Spain and is now the first name on the team sheet. With a total of 3 and juice on the over we have to get exposure to Arsenal. Ozil may not score but bags at least an assist. Let’s rank em.
UPDATE: NO HAZARD MEANS GIVE ME ALLL THE MORATA. SEE A RAINY DAY IN STOKE SO MOVING OZIL AHEAD OF POGBA. NOT BY MUCH.
Tier 2 : Morata,Ozil, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Alli
This is definitely where you will need to check back on Saturday morning. So much will be dependent on who starts. A few thoughts…Martial eats teams like Stoke alive. Batshuayi is relegated to the bench. Pedro is active but does this game shoot out? Does Willian or Hazard start? Sigurdsson is a fantasy monster. Lacazette EATS this week. 2 goals. Let’s rank em..
UPDATE: NO TADIC, NO WILLIAN/HAZARD MEANS PEDRO GETS A FEW SHARES
Tier 3 : Lacazette, Sigurdsson, Martial/Rashford,
Who’s happy? That’s what this tier comes down to. Mahrez didn’t get his transfer away and missed a PK on international duty. Rooney is getting DUIs faster than his hair plugs are falling out. Shaqiri is on fire lately and is a solid 10+ pt play at home. Mata hasn’t accumulated points at a rate you’d expect and may not start. Welbeck needs 30 chances to bury one. Shiiiiitttt. Watford’s defense is shit and with Britos out with a red, you have both Kaboul and Prodl banged up. Gabbiadini finally gets back on the score sheet. HOWEVER, that is strictly a GPP play. His ceiling is like 15 points. Give me
UPDATE: GETTING MORE SHARES OF WELBECK POPPING UP. NO LEXI, 2 UP TOP AGAINST THE BACK 3 OF BOURNEMOUTH
Tier 4 : , Shaqiri, Mahrez, Welbeck, Rooney, Gabbiadini/Redmond
Yuck. Right off the bat, Janssen has been loaned out of Tottenham. If you were planning on using him you are not good at this anyway but DO NOT ROSTER JANSSEN. K, good. I don’t like that Vardy isn’t getting many chances. Against Arsenal he had 2 shots and buried both. He hasn’t put a shot on target since, but Chelsea have given up goals this year and Leicester are at home. Chris Brunt has provided some OK value with his move to the back line. He gets forward and whips crosses in. He is also on corner duty for some easy points. Daley Blind has little competition at LB at the moment and has used that freedom to get forward and put crosses in dangerous areas. He also had 2 assists in Holland’s game at the weekend. Mirallas seems to be FAR down the pecking order. Davies has a decent floor but not much upside. Want to get funky? Knockaert actually isn’t that bad when given the full 90. Could this be the week they score?? Shane Long? If he starts you can play him. If not, no shot.
UPDATE: NO BRUNT. VARDY UP TOP WITH SLIMANI…NOT SURE IT HELPS HIM.
Tier 5 : Blind,
Brunt, Vardy, Knockaert , Alonso
Where in the fuck do we go here? Would love to see Cech on this list for the auto play but that’s why he’s not there. Tottenham used to have an air tight defense but Lloris has been getting peppered both in the EPL and with France. On the road at Everton…could see this being a 1-1 game which does us no good. I feel like Chelsea has turned the corner a bit. The drama with Costa isn’t over but the transfer window is. Courtois gets the win bonus on the road. That opinion downgrades Schmeichel a bit. West Brom head to Brighton who haven’t scored all year. Is this the week? No. Do West Brom score? Sure. Clean sheet and a win…yes please. Don’t let the O next to Pickford’s name fool you. He’s very much playing. At home to Tottenham isn’t the most fun place to be. Southampton v Watford could be a bit of a shootout if the teams can finish their chances. I may keep my range down this week.
Tier 6 : Foster, Courtois, Schmeichel?
