Mo Salah is not of this world right now. He’s literally destroying the EPL one game at a time. He didn’t start at midweek. No worries, he came on for 20 minutes and scored 2 goals to put the game away. Liverpool/BHA have the highest total of the weekend so give me all the Salah.
Mane found the scoresheet as well. As always, who the hell knows who Klopp is going to start. Of the 3 Liv players I’d rank them Salah/………….Coutinho/Sane.
Eriksen is off right now for some reason. Watford were torn apart by United but Tottenham are in a bad way themselves. I don’t think this is his get right game. I’m not playing him at all.
If Spurs do score it’s going to be Kane. If you want to be different than Salah, go here.
UPDATE: NO MANE
TIER 1: Salah, Kane, Coutinho,
Sexy Lexi in tier 2. Roo coming off a hattrick hero performance. No one was on him. Let’s evaluate this week.
Is Rom ever going to score again? For a striker, it’s all about confidence. He simply doesn’t have it right now. Look no further than the game against Watford when he received the ball on the 6 with only the keeper to beat. 3 touches later, he didn’t get a shot off. However, there aren’t a TON of good options in this tier.
Sanchez is probably the go to here. My only issue is that United have been very solid at the back. With Lindelof finally looking up to the challenge of the Premier League, I don’t know that Sanchez will run wild. He’s always dangerous and takes some set pieces. If you are only going with 1 player from Arsenal I may lean Ozil. Sanchez is very much in play.
Stoke are favorites for maybe the first time this century. Shaqiri does much better when possession is more even or even in Stoke’s favor. I don’t mind shares of Xherdan.
I don’t like Alli this season. Can’t quite put my finger on it. I feel like he’s been shit all season but then I realize that 3 goals and 3 assists in his last 7 games. With his central positioning, he has only put in 1 cross over that span of games. He’s too volatile and Spurs are playing too poorly for me to use him.
What to do with Rooney….you can chase the points if you want but I’m not going there on my top team. To sell this, Everton are the third biggest favorite on the board, at home, playing their first game under new manager Big Sam. Huddersfield have been AWFUL of late as well. Do we need a piece of this game? Sam is a bit of a pump and dump type of coach so I’m not sure how that fits with Roo. The starting 11 could dictate my exposure.
UPDATE: ROO KEEPS HIS PLACE. STOKE START 6’7″ CROUCH UP TOP. EXPECT A BOATLOAD OF CROSSES FROM SHAQIRI
TIER 2: Sanchez, Shaqiri, Lukaku, Rooney
Very interesting tier. This is actually the most competitive tier that I’ve seen so far. Let’s work our way through.
Richarlison has cooled off a bit the last 2 but still provides a cutting edge in the final third. This game has the highest total on the board so I can justify a share. Does Deeney come into the first 11?
Pogba is back but hasn’t found the scoresheet only once since August. Does he find the net v Arsenal?
Gylfi is on his way back to DFS relevance and that shouldn’t stop with Sam’s propensity to ask for balls to be whipped into the box. He’s a good option here. How much will Everton have of the ball? Probably a lot. Interesting.
Ozil is such a little bitch but holy hell he is on fire right now. If he gets knocked around in the first few minutes then go ahead and close up shop for the day. BUT when he’s on he can really pile up the points. Like I mentioned with Lexi, United are pretty damn good at the back so play at your own risk. I actually might go here.
Fuck Firmino. Moving on.
Brady won a bunch of people money at midweek. I was not one of those people. I had him ranked 4th in the tier which was my biggest miss of the season. I won’t make the same mistake again. Burnley might be for real. Leicester are coming off a great result v Tottenham but they don’t exactly strike fear in my heart. I’ll have a share at least.
If Min starts and I want to get cute I may have a share. Prolly not.
UPDATE: FIRMINO DOES START UP FRONT. PROBABLY NEED TO THROW HIM IN THERE SOMEWHERE. LEICESTER HAVE A VERY ATTACKING LINEUP TODAY. I DON’T THINK IT PINS BRADY BACK….I THINK IT OPENS UP MORE SPACE TO GET FORWARD. NEW TIER BELOW. DEENEY DOES PLAY NEXT TO RICHARLISON AND PEREYRA IS BACK IN THE FIRST 11. STILL LOVE RICHARLISON.
OLD TIER 3: Richarlison, Ozil, Gylfi, Brady, Pogba
NEW TIER 3: RICHARLISON, BRADY, OZIL, FIRMINO, POGBA, GYLFI
No Lacazette. Be aware of the big nosed Giroud later.
Martial is in form. He’s the only piece of United I want from this tier.
Lamela is finally back and made an instant impact with an assist and a shot on goal in 13 minutes but until I see him get a start and play more than 65 minutes I don’t know if I’m going there.
If Niasse can get a start, this could be where my interest starts. I’m a little less convinced about Gylfi and Roo but if Niasse comes back he will be nice and fresh and on the end of some crosses.
The only other player I’m considering is Zaha. He’s good to get fouled 2-4 times a game. He can’t certainly score the odd goal. On the road v West Brom might be the place he bags one.
UPDATE: NO NIASSE. MILNER STARTS IN MIDFIELD WITH HENDERSON SITTING BEHIND HIM. HE’S BEEN GOOD IN THIS TYPE OF POSITION.
Niasse (if he starts), Marial, Zaha, MILNER, Townsend
Trippier is the safe play. He’s been balling recently and is very solid.
I’m torn on Giroud. He’s rarely played 90 minutes lately. He did come in for Lacazette and score 2 goals. Here’s the thing, I don’t think Wenger trusts him. It wouldn’t totally shock me if he didn’t even start. If he does start, he’s no guarantee to play 90. He is a player who will need multiple chances to finish. Just so many question marks but so little options in this tier.
Gross has been pretty good this year but hasn’t played 90 since mid October. In a tier without a ton of solid players I’m ranking him as a play.
Anyone trusting Vardy/Mahrez? The shine has worn off these 2 former champs and even though they both score v Tottenham, I don’t know if I trust them v Burnley.
Cabaye has been a solid play but is nicked up.
UPDATE: NO MAJOR NEWS IN THIS TIER. MAJOR REMINDER….WE WON’T KNOW TEAM NEWS FOR ARSENAL UNTIL AFTER LOCK. GIROUD IS A VERY RISKY PLAY IN GENERAL. THERE IS ALSO A CHANCE HE DOESN’T START. WALCOTT ISN’T HEALTHY. UNDERSTAND THAT IF YOU START GIROUD YOU COULD BE LEFT WITH A 0!!!
TIER 5: Trippier, Gross, Giroud, Vardy
I can’t deny it any longer, Ashley Young is playing fucking awesome. A right footed 30 something year old left back isn’t necessarily where I look first but you have to consider him here. He’s nearly the first name on the teamsheet these days for Jose.
WTF is Klopp doing with Alexander-Arnold? Am I the only one who sees that he is their best right back? Play the kid you horse toothed dickhead.
Gudmundsson delivered the goods at midweek and I don’t mind going back there again. He’s good for 10 points every week. He probably won’t win you the big one but he won’t kill you.
Anyone up for a revenge game? Welbeck against the team that sold him…years ago. Don’t go there.
Calvert-Lewin…OK guys. YES he was my top play in a fluky tier and he only scored 1 point but here’s the kicker….he had a tap in goal before he was taken down in the box for a penalty which Rooney converted. If the youngster tucks that one away his confidence goes through the roof and he’s buzzing the rest of the game. Who knows what could have happened. Bad result but I don’t hate the play I made. Probably not going there this week.
Last but not least, Ramsey has been playing well. Again, how much Arsenal do you want? He’s in play but not my top choice.
UPDATE: ROBERTSON AND ALEXANDER-ARNOLD START!
TIER 6: Young, Gudmundsson, Ramsey, Alexander-Arnold (if he plays), ROBERTSON
